Sermon Description

2 Kings 5:1-5 KJV

  • 1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the Lord had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.
  • 2 And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife.
  • 3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.
  • 4 And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.
  • 5 And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.

Luke 17:11-19 KJV

  • 11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
  • 12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
  • 13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
  • 14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
  • 15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
  • 16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
  • 17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
  • 18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
  • 19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

Exodus 2:1-10 KJV

  • 1 And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.
  • 2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.
  • 3 And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink.
  • 4 And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.
  • 5 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.
  • 6 And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.
  • 7 Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?
  • 8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child's mother.
  • 9 And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the women took the child, and nursed it.
  • 10 And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.

Hebrews 11:23-28 KJV

  • 23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.
  • 24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
  • 25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
  • 26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
  • 27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
  • 28 Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.

Daniel 1:1-9 KJV

  • 1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.
  • 2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.
  • 3 And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes;
  • 4 Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.
  • 5 And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.
  • 6 Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:
  • 7 Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego.
  • 8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
  • 9 Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.

Dan 1:1-10 KJV

  • 1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;
  • 2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
  • 3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
  • 4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
  • 5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
  • 6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
  • 7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
  • 8 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
  • 9 For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
  • 10 And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king.
