Sermon Description

2Tim 3:1-8

  • 1 But know this, that in the last days grievous times shall come.
  • 2 For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
  • 3 without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good,
  • 4 traitors, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;
  • 5 holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof: from these also turn away.
  • 6 For of these are they that creep into houses, and take captive silly women laden with sins, led away by divers lusts,
  • 7 ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
  • 8 And even as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also withstand the truth; men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith.

1Tim 4:1-5

  • 1 But the Spirit saith expressly, that in later times some shall fall away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons,
  • 2 through the hypocrisy of men that speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron;
  • 3 forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by them that believe and know the truth.
  • 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it be received with thanksgiving:
  • 5 for it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer,.

Jonah 1:1-2

  • 1 Now the word of Jehovah came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,
  • 2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.

Jonah 4:5-11

  • 5 Then Jonah went out of the city, and sat on the east side of the city, and there made him a booth, and sat under it in the shade, till he might see what would become of the city.
  • 6 And Jehovah God prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shade over his head, to deliver him from his evil case. So Jonah was exceeding glad because of the gourd.
  • 7 But God prepared a worm when the morning rose the next day, and it smote the gourd, that it withered.
  • 8 And it came to pass, when the sun arose, that God prepared a sultry east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, that he fainted, and requested for himself that he might die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live.
  • 9 And God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death.
  • 10 And Jehovah said, Thou hast had regard for the gourd, for which thou hast not labored, neither madest it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night:
  • 11 and should not I have regard for Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?
