Sermon Description

Luke 13:6-9

  • 6 And he spake this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came seeking fruit thereon, and found none.
  • 7 And he said unto the vinedresser, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why doth it also cumber the ground?
  • 8 And he answering saith unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
  • 9 and if it bear fruit thenceforth, well; but if not, thou shalt cut it down.

Jer 18:1-4

  • 1 The word which came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,
  • 2 Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
  • 3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he was making a work on the wheels.
  • 4 And when the vessel that he made of the clay was marred in the hand of the potter, he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

2Cor 4:7-18

  • 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves;
  • 8 we are pressed on every side, yet not straitened; perplexed, yet not unto despair;
  • 9 pursued, yet not forsaken; smitten down, yet not destroyed;
  • 10 always bearing about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our body.
  • 11 For we who live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
  • 12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
  • 13 But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, I believed, and therefore did I speak; we also believe, and therefore also we speak;
  • 14 knowing that he that raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also with Jesus, and shall present us with you.
  • 15 For all things are for your sakes, that the grace, being multiplied through the many, may cause the thanksgiving to abound unto the glory of God.
  • 16 Wherefore we faint not; but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day.
  • 17 For our light affliction, which is for the moment, worketh for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory;
  • 18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Hos 10:12-13

  • 12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap according to kindness; break up your fallow ground; for it is time to seek Jehovah, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
  • 13 Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies; for thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men.
