Sermon Description

1 Kings 19:19-21

  • 19 So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing, with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed over unto him, and cast his mantle upon him.
    20 And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again; for what have I done to thee?
    21 And he returned from following him, and took the yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave unto the people, and they did eat. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered unto him.

Exod 14:10

  • 10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians were marching after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto Jehovah.

Ps 23:1-6

  • 1 Jehovah is my shepherd; I shall not want.
  • 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside still waters.
  • 3 He restoreth my soul: He guideth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
  • 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
  • 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:Thou hast anointed my head with oil; My cup runneth over.
  • 6 Surely goodness and lovingkindness shall follow me all the days of my life; And I shall dwell in the house of Jehovah for ever.

Ps 91:1-16

  • 1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
  • 2 I will say of Jehovah, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust.
  • 3 For he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence.
  • 4 He will cover thee with his pinions, And under his wings shalt thou take refuge: His truth is a shield and a buckler.
  • 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, Nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
  • 6 For the pestilence that walketh in darkness, Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
  • 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, And ten thousand at thy right hand; But it shall not come nigh thee.
  • 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold, And see the reward of the wicked.
  • 9 For thou, O Jehovah, art my refuge! Thou hast made the Most High thy habitation;
  • 10 There shall no evil befall thee, Neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent.
  • 11 For he will give his angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all thy ways.
  • 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
  • 13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: The young lion and the serpent shalt thou trample under foot.
  • 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
  • 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble: I will deliver him, and honor him.
  • 16 With long life will I satisfy him, And show him my salvation.
